My name is Ai Ling Liaw. 
I started Ling Photography in 2007. 

if you have a degree, what field is it in?
BS in mechanical engineering.

how did you get started in photography?
Engineering really wasn't my thing so I rediscovered photography. I started with photographing everyday life, to photographing people. Eventually I photographed my first wedding in July 2007, and I have been doing it since. I am grateful for my engineering experiences though. It makes me appreciate photography even more.

in one word, describe how you feel when you take a photo.
'hmmm'

where do your best ideas originate?
From everyday life. My fun loving seven year old son is an awesome one person cheering squad.

do you have any other creative pursuits other than photography?
No. I know I definitely can't write. I mean, just look at all my sad looking blog posts...

what's your favorite thing about being a photographer?
My life is my work, although I don't really see it as work. It's my way of expressing myself.

do you have any advice for aspiring photographers?
Don't think, just shoot.
